Labiron develops and builds laboratory automation that is used all over the world. We are a small, multidisciplinary team in Wijchen (the Netherlands) of engineers, project managers, software developers and service engineers, and we are always looking for technical talent.

Vacancy: Mechanical Engineer – CAD design

Full-time (32–40 hours per week) · Wijchen, the Netherlands

At Labiron we design and build ACAROS robots that automate sample preparation in laboratories all over the world. To strengthen our engineering team, we are looking for a mechanical engineer who turns ideas into clear, production-ready 3D designs and drawings. You'll have a lot of freedom: you come up with your own solutions and see them through, from the first sketch to a machine working in a laboratory.

What you will do

  • Come up with your own ideas for new solutions and improvements, and work them out yourself, from concept to a working machine.
  • Design new machine parts, assemblies and modules in 3D CAD, from concept to production drawing.
  • Maintain and modify the existing CAD models and drawings of our machines: improvements, customer-specific versions and product updates.
  • Make production drawings, bills of materials and documentation for our workshop and suppliers.
  • Work closely with our process engineers, software developers, service engineers and suppliers.
  • Keep the drawing archive in order: revisions, part numbers and standards.
  • Think along about manufacturability, cost and serviceability.

What you bring

  • MBO level 4 or HBO (bachelor) in mechanical engineering, or comparable.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software and technical drawings (tolerances, standards).
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, machining and assembly; experience in machine building is a plus.
  • You work accurately and in a structured way, and you enjoy solving technical puzzles in a small team.
  • Good command of Dutch; English is an advantage.

What we offer

  • A high level of autonomy and substantial creative freedom.
  • The freedom to conceptualize and execute your own ideas.
  • A full-time position (32–40 hours per week) in Wijchen; working partly remote is possible.
  • Varied work on high-tech laboratory automation, from idea to working machine.
  • A small, multidisciplinary team with short lines.
  • Good terms of employment.
